What is a month?
A month is a unit of time with respect to calendars. A month includes 28-31 days based on the cycle of the moon. A month is determined on the basis of the orbital period of the moon. There are twelve months in a year, and each month represents a different season. We follow the calendar which is generated from the Roman calendar system such as the Gregorian calendar. The names of the months were given according to the important events of the Rome and Latin names. However, the last four months were named after the Latin numbers 7,8,9,and 10 (septem, octo, novem and decem).

June is the sixth month of the year. It has 30 days. June is the month when the light of the day stays longer, and the summer season is about to set in. The longest day of the year also lies in the month of June. The month of June also represents half of the year passing away.
July
July is the seventh month of the year. July consists of 31 days and also marks the beginning of the second half of the year. The month of July is also the month of summer vacations. People go out for holidays this month as it marks the travel month for most.
August
August is the eighth month of the year. It consists of 31 days. It is the season of peak summer. There are a number of festivals celebrated in the month of August. In India, people celebrate Onam, Raksha Bandhan, and Independence Day in the month of August.
September
September is the ninth month of the year. It has 30 days. It is the month in which the fall or autumn season starts to set in. It is also the month of back-to-school.
October
October is the tenth month of the year. It consists of 31 days. October is the month of trick or treats, and Halloween falls in the month of October, in which individuals celebrate by dressing up as different characters and treating each other.
November
November is the eleventh month of the year. The month of November consists of 30 days. It is the second last month of the year. Winters start to set in the month of November.
December
December is the last month of the year, and it consists of 31 days. December is the month of snow and coziness. It is a joyous month filled with winter warmth and festivities. Christmas falls in the month of December and New Year’s Eve.
