Despite expectations for pro-crypto policies, President Trump’s inaugural speech did not address cryptocurrency, falling short of some industry expectations.

President Donald Trump inaugurated on Jan. 20 as the 47th President of the United States..

In his inaugural address, he emphasized themes of unity, strength, and fairness, focusing on key issues such as high inflation, immigration policies, border control, energy production, and oil.

Trump made no mention of cryptocurrency, leaving the industry’s future regulatory landscape uncertain. This omission stands in contrast to the anticipation of a crypto-friendly administration.

Republican lawmaker’s omit crypto

A new document from Republican lawmakers also failed to mention cryptocurrency or digital assets.

The document, released by Punchbowl news, evealed that crypto will not be an immediate legislative priority for the new Trump administration.

The crypto market saw some volatility after this news — Bitcoin (BTC) took a sharp downturn and briefly reached $100,430. Much of the crypto market followed suit, dipping by 3-5% respectively.

Currently, BTC has recovered to trade above $104,000, reflecting continued uncertainty and volatility in digital assets.

As the new administration settles in, the crypto community awaits clarity on potential regulatory actions that could shape the future of the industry.
