    Celebrating 10 Years of Ethereum

On July 30, 2025, the Ethereum community marked a major milestone: ten years since the Ethereum’s genesis block and mainnet launch.

What began as a whitepaper has evolved into a decentralized platform now powering thousands of applications, tools, and communities around the world.

    The Celebration

To commemorate the occasion, over 100 ecosystem-led events took place across 6 continents. These gatherings spanned meetups, workshops, art shows, and hackathons, all organized by members of the Ethereum community.

The Ethereum Foundation hosted a livestream event to welcome in the next decade.

The livestream featured a discussion with Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin, an interview with Ethereum Foundation Co-Executive Directors Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomask Stańczak, an overview of the Ethereum roadmap, and talks from ecosystem builders.

While the ecosystem reflected on progress, it also looked to the future. Many shared their “moonshot ideas” for what the next 10+ years might look like for Ethereum. New decades bring new challenges and opportunities for Ethereum across AI, biotech, culture, finance, governance, & more.

    The Ethereum Torch

The Ethereum Torch is an NFT created to commemorate the 10 years of Ethereum celebration.

In the 10 days leading up to the anniversary, the Ethereum Torch was symbolically passed from wallet to wallet to honor the people and values that have shaped Ethereum’s first decade and will help build its future.

Ten individual Torchbearers were selected to represent the Ethereum ecosystem. Each Torchbearer shared reflections about Ethereum on social media which was cumulated into a collective thread.

On the day of the anniversary celebration, the Ethereum Torch was available to the ecosystem for a free, limited time mint.

The mint, set to last for 50hrs, symbolizes a ‘full day across the world with Ethereum’, to memorialize the occasion.

Thank you to everyone who participated and celebrated. Here’s to the next ten years of building on Ethereum and beyond.
