Blast receives Frontrun proposal with $50,000 opening offer

Crypto trading platform Frontrun.pro has publicly asked to buy Blast, offering $50,000 to start a deal and claiming it has a team and prospective investors ready to support the blockchain.

    Summary

    • Frontrun has approached Blast publicly with a proposal to buy the company behind the blockchain.
    • The $50,000 offer is described as a starting point, without a disclosed final purchase price.
    • Prospective investors are unnamed, and the post makes their participation conditional on a company sale.
    • Blast previously announced a wind-down plan, citing operating costs that exceeded its Layer 2 revenue.

Frontrun.pro, in an Oct. 29 X post, asked Blast’s team whether it would consider selling the company, saying it had people ready to work on the network and investors willing to put money into it.

    Hey @blast team!

Would you consider selling Blast? We have an entire team ready to make your blockchain 10x better.

We also have several investors ready to put their money into Blast, but you have to sell us the company first.

The approach was addressed directly to Blast’s account and included a dedicated acquisition contact address. It did not identify a legal entity making the offer, name the proposed investors or set out a transaction timetable.

Blast proposal opens with $50,000 and conditional investor interest

The post presented the prospective investment as dependent on a sale, saying the company would first need to change hands before the investors put money into Blast.

“We’re ready to offer $50,000 to get the deal started,” Frontrun wrote.

Its wording did not specify whether that amount represented an initial payment, a negotiating figure, or the full consideration it would ultimately seek to pay. No ownership percentage, payment structure, or list of assets to be acquired appeared in the message.

Although Frontrun claimed it could make the blockchain ten times better, it supplied no technical plan, performance targets or budget supporting that assertion. The post did not describe changes to validators, infrastructure, applications, or the BLAST token.

Neither an acceptance from Blast nor a signed agreement was included in the announcement. The message asked to begin discussions and provided an email address for contact.

Blast’s announced wind-down included a withdrawal interface deadline

Earlier this month, crypto.news reported that Blast had announced its shutdown after its team said maintaining the network cost more than the Layer 2 generated in revenue.

In the Oct. 2 announcement described in that report, Blast said it saw no credible route to economic sustainability and asked users to withdraw assets to Ethereum mainnet. The request covered balances in its progressive web app as well as funds on the network.

The announced plan set Oct. 26 as the deadline for using the normal withdrawal interface. Assets were to remain withdrawable afterward through direct interaction with bridge contracts on Ethereum, with instructions promised before the cutoff.

Before resuming withdrawals with a shorter 24-hour delay, the team planned to withdraw Blast’s Lido assets. It estimated that process would take approximately one week, during which user withdrawals would be temporarily unavailable.

Separately, Blast’s public status page displayed its mainnet, block production, public RPC, and batch submission as operational when checked on Oct. 29. The page listed no incidents for that date.

Blast attracted deposits before launching its mainnet

Founded by Blur co-founder Tieshun Roquerre, known as Pacman, Blast initially accepted deposits before its mainnet was available.

By December 2023, its deposits surpassed $720 million, according to historical reporting citing DeFiLlama. Users prefunded accounts through a multisignature contract while earning returns on deposited crypto assets.

At that stage, the project combined a native-yield model with an anticipated token airdrop. Its early deposit arrangement attracted scrutiny over the absence of a live mainnet and the use of a multisignature wallet.

In May 2025, Blast ended its Safe integration, citing third-party risk and usability concerns as it prepared its own multisignature wallet functionality.

Users accessing those wallets through Safe’s interface were directed to BrahmaFi’s hosted interface or given the option of hosting their own. At the time, Blast said it was building multisignature functionality directly into Blast Mobile.
